The Wallsend collectors fair on Sunday April 20 was a success and I'll have a stall again at the next show on Sunday May 18. Please see their facebook page for details. This show is generally held every 3rd Sunday of the month.

I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted into Stamp and Coin Dealers Association of Australasia Inc (SCDAA). As part of that I hope to at some stage, hopefully this year, be attending the Petersham Stamp & Coin Fair, for which there is a waiting queue.

The next show will be at 107 Crystal St, Petersham NSW on Sunday June 29, 2025. Petersham shows are generally held on every 5th Sunday of any calendar month that year.

In the meantime, I'll be attending the Newcastle Coins, Notes and Stamps Fair as a stall-holder. This show is on Sunday April 20, Pioneer Memorial Hall, 54 Cowper St, Wallsend NSW and is generally held every 3rd Sunday of the month.

I am in the process of updating this site to take advantage of a modern e-sales engine, which will greatly enhance the look and feel. I'm not too far away from launching it now, probably a month.

I continue to hold regular Ebay Auctoins. Please check in eveyry week to see what's new. While I emphasize world coins and banknotes, there is always plenty of Australian material also.

I have transferred operations to NSW and am hoping to bring my stall to some of the local markets, hopefully as early as this year, but, we'll see.

In the meantime, please check out my Sales section using the tab above as well as the Auctoins section on my ebay store. I'll be running regular world and Australian coin and banknote auctions going forward. The next auction will be starting today, Friday December 13.

I have added functionality to edit the PCGS description string, using the button. It's still buggy, but if you don't want to break it, you'll be able to use it right now to alter the return sting, which can aid your Ebay listings. Remember that the app returns links to images of the coin, so the whole process with Ebay turned off using the tickbox introduced previously, should be further streamlined.

Sadly the Hobart Collector Fair (the one in Glenorchy) is no longer running, but I have found a Sunday replacement at the Sorell Community Market. This was a major regional market back before COVID and they have restarted operations with more stalls and variety every second Sunday. Please check out their facebook and I'll see you there.

I have added a tickbox to disable Ebay search, a search which slowed down the lookup so much. I couldn't really thread those processes together as I needed output from one to feed the other. At some stage I'd like to add an interactive return string as well as fix logins, this way users can set up their own string returns for ebay or other platform listings.

I noticed the PCGS banknotes were not working yesterday, as I was trying to list the latest haul. The last time, I assumed PCGS was down. Today, looking at my code, I realised the whole PCGS branch was not compliant with the new database format as well as not using the proxy. I guess that I must have just processed the last batch (3+ months ago) of PCGS notes manually so that I could drive on and then forgot about it. PCGS notes should be fixed now. I know no-one's using the site right now from looking at the analytics, but trust me, what should take a day of painful ebay listing only takes a few hours using this tool. So, spending 4 hours getting to the bottom of this, I felt was a worthwhile investment into whatever future this project has.

Many issues remain. For instance, I've noticed that the PCGS coins module is not returning the top pop count as it should, whereas the note module does. It's clearly a bug, but it's too minor for me to worry about right now.

I lost my IT consulting business right about COVID time in early 2020. It wasn't COVID's fault, but it nonetheless hurt. I was already dealing in coins at the time. Coins were my passion since I was a boy. I still have the first coin that I collected in my album. 1952 20k USSR. There is nothing special about it, other than it is my first coin.

I found work for a local coin shop and one of the jobs I had to do was list a large number of graded coins for sale or auction. So, being a developer by trade, I wrote about 1000 lines of code to scrape PCGS coins, notes and NGC coins and return coin descriptions and values. Only PCGS coins are functional right now.

I'm temporarily offering you this app for free. There are many issues yet to be fixed, but I intend to monerise this mess once I have some time to tidy it up. Please note that login and signup probably don't work. Please contact me if you have any thoughts.
